eXpectations Holidays members could have booked 7-nights in a luxurious 4-bedroom villa (sleeping 8) during the UK Summer School Holidays between 26th August – 2nd September at the RCI Gold Crown Kilconquhar Estate and Country Club. Scotland offers some of the most scenic and picturesque locations in the UK from beautiful mountains vistas to historic castles and quaint villages, let’s not forget stunning golf-courses too! Home of the World’s most famous golf-course, St. Andrews, the Kingdom of Fife is located on Scotland’s east coast, situated between the Firth of Tay and the Firth of Forth. The village of Kilconquhar lies in the east of Fife next to an enchanting Loch. Here you can spot a variety of birds and wildfowl in addition to the plants and insects found at the Scottish Wildlife Trust Barnyards Marsh.

Scotland, Home of Golf

Scotland is the “Home of Golf” and this wonderful game was first played at St.Andrews, 30-minutes north of the resort, way back in the 16th Century by King James VI. From the historic course at St Andrews to the numerous links and parkland fairways inland, there are around 50 courses for you to choose from.

August is the tail end of summer in Scotland but is still one of the hottest months of the year with temperatures reaching 20 Degrees C. The weather is great for enthusiastic golfers and as Kilconquhar is situated amongst numerous links courses, you’ll be sure to hit that perfect hole in one! Of course this is the good old British weather so be sure to pack a rain coat just in-case!

RCI Gold Crown Kilconquhar Estate & Country Club

Dating from the 16th century, set in 120-acres of scenic Fife countryside, Kilconquhar Castle Estate offers a superb combination of privacy, peace and relaxation. Brush up on your stroke at the driving range or practice your putting skills on the superb greens, should you prefer a game of tennis then head to the heart of the estate where you’ll find the tennis courts.

A fitness centre, games hall, on-site Equestrian centre and complementary massage therapies are available for you to enjoy and there is also a kids club for the younger guests. Kilconquhar Estate and Country Club certainly brings the whole family together to capture those magical memories.

This 4-bedroom villa split over two levels offers all the comforts of home-from-home accommodation. Guests can enjoy the spacious open-plan living area with the warmth and glow of a coal/log fire for those cosy nights in. This villa has 3-bathrooms, 40” plasma TV and a fully-equipped kitchen with a dining table seating up to 10 guests perfect for impressing your friends with a hearty meal after the days adventures. This villa also offers a sauna great for helping you relax, unwind and recharge ready for tomorrow’s adventures.

Kingdom of Fife

Fife’s towns and villages may be small, but certainly pack a punch and are full of character! What’s more, you can discover them all on foot and soak up the impressive views as you follow the Fife coastal path. The region is peppered with incredibly picturesque sea towns and villages, teeming with masses of great outdoor activities and amazing wildlife. From the suave atmosphere of St. Andrews to the quaint fishing villages of the East Neuk of Fife such as Crail and Anstruther to Elie and beyond.

Head down to Elie Harbour, around 10-minutes away, with links to the adjacent Elie Earls ferry Beach, giving almost a mile of uninterrupted sand perfect for strolling along its sweeping coastline and picturesque surroundings.

Day trip to Edinburgh

Take a day trip to Edinburgh, it’s only one hour away! Explore Scotland’s capital city aboard The Royal Edinburgh Ticket tour, with 48 hours on all 3 city tours and fast track into the cities top sights. Discover the magnificent history of Edinburgh’s Castle, dating back some 1,000 years, it dominates the cities skyline and is simply unmissable whilst in town. Next up is the Palace of Holyrood House, HM The Queen’s Royal residence in Edinburgh, stroll through it’s elegant corridors learning about its history along the way. Explore more of this fantastic city from the shopping on Princes Street to the charming old town and Royal Mile.

Unforgettable outdoor experiences can be enjoyed at Craigluscar Activities in nearby Dunfermline, the place to go for a range of fun and exciting outdoor adventures. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Craigluscar Hill and its community woodland, there is something for everyone, including quad biking, clay pigeon shooting and rifle shooting. Are you daring enough to try your hand at piloting the amazing hover-crafts or bring out your inner farmer and test your tractor driving skills.

To highlight the great value of eXpectations Holidays we conducted a price comparison using TripAdvisor to source an equivalent holiday. We were unable to find an exact price match for the holiday example shown above, however, we did find another 4-bed villa with a slightly different layout available two weeks prior to the example holiday. 7-nights within this unit at Kilconquhar Estate & Country Club were available on Booking.com during 12th – 19th August 2017 within a 4-bedroom villa (sleeping 10) for £2,126.25 (based on 10 people sharing when we looked on 16/3/2017).

In comparison, we found this 7-night holiday at Kilconquhar Estate & Country Club during August 26th – September 2nd 2017 also within a 4-bedroom villa (sleeping 8) for 117,500 points on RCI.com (when we looked on: 8/3/2017).
