Villaggio Emmanuele is a delightful holiday complex situated on the Italian east coast near the town of Manfredonia in the province of Foggia. The resort offers charming two-floor stone apartments settled within lush Mediterranean gardens with direct access to long stretches of sandy beaches and The Gulf of Manfredonia.

The town of Manfredonia is situated in the north part of the Puglia region, recognised as the “heel of Italy’s boot”. Visitors can discover stunning coastlines, enjoy award-winning beaches, admire historical sites and explore nearby traditional villages surrounded by olive groves and vineyards.

Manfredonia during September revels in long sunny days with temperatures averaging 27 degrees Celsius and the bay’s clear, warm water entice visitors to splash around and relish the water-sports.

The town of Manfredonia is close to one of Italy’s largest national parks, Parco Nazionale del Gargano (Gargano National Park), also known as the “Gateway to the Gargano”. This beautiful national park offers visitors winding pathways through Mount Gargano’s silver pine forests descending through peaceful olive groves towards the Gargano Peninsula. From here discover dramatic views of secluded bays, the sparkling Adriatic Sea and the Rodi Garganico village, gallantly built on the cliff’s edge. Take a boat trip from Rodi Garganico port to Tremeti Islands to experience the true taste of Italian cuisine in many of their fine restaurants. Whilst exploring the national park, visit the lake in Forest Umbra to discover an abundance of wildlife and look out for the adorable tiny turtles along the way.

For those interested in history and architecture spend time wandering around Santa Maria Maggiore di Siponto, situated in Manfredonia. The unique square design of this Romanesque church was finally built in the year 1117 and presents beautiful stone engravings on the domes four pillars. The discovery of the underground crypt dedicated to the Virgin Mary offers an interesting experience.

Marina del Gargano is situated near the old town of Manfredonia and is a good base to start exploring the harbourfront, shops and restaurants. Stroll along the port with an ice-cream in hand to admire the moored super-yachts or stop for a snack at the bustling Blu Paradise Café. Wander through the historic town to explore the charming boutiques. To find a unique and special gift, visit Robustella Ceramiche, this quaint shop is in the beautiful courtyard Marasco, visitors will be enchanted by the colourful handmade ceramics and crafts.

For the true Italian atmosphere, the coastal towns of Peschici and Vieste are worth visiting, both approximately 1-hour drive north of Manfredonia. Wander through narrow pathways lined with white-washed stone houses adorning colourful flowers. Browse the great selection of tiny shops displaying hanging souvenirs and home-made crafts. Stop for lunch at the harbour-front or take a boat excursion to explore the coastline and caves.
