61,500 Expectations points 7 nights in March/April, 2 bedroom sleeps 6
For the wild at heart looking for an exciting safari timeshare holiday in Africa, the Kruger Park Lodge in South Africa is a Gold Crown RCI resort, ideal for a timesharing holiday in one of the most spectacular, thrilling and breathtaking locations in the world. March/April is an ideal time for game viewing – the veldt (grasslands) is slightly shorter moving into autumn, but the weather is still hot and clement, even in the evenings.
This weeklong holiday in March/April was available on the RCI website in July 2013 and gives you an example of the superior timeshare holidays available to Expectations points owners. For a mere 47,500 points you could be winging your way to this two-bedroom chalet close to the world famous Kruger Game Reserve in South Africa. Depending on the time of year and your preferences, you’ll find a range of game reserves and timeshared accommodation on the RCI website.
With views over the 9-hole Gray Player designed golf course, the Kruger Park Lodge offers superlative timeshare holiday chalets and game viewing excursions. Voted RCI resort of the year in 2008, Kruger Park Lodge has been designed in harmony with nature and there is feeling of tranquillity and privacy no matter where you roam. With walking paths along the golf course and the lush banks of the Sabie River, there is a protected hippo hide where guests can begin their game viewing experience when the hippos come down to the dam in the early evening.
Each of the timeshare chalets at Kruger Park Lodge is furnished to the highest standards using locally produced furniture, fabrics and colours to reflect the rustic hues of the African bush. The two-bedroom chalet sleeps up to eight adults comfortably. There is a spacious living/dining area leading out to a private patio with barbecue as well as a full kitchen with modern appliances where you can prepare tasty meals and dine at home. There is an excellent restaurant onsite, serving breakfast and dinner as well as light meals and snacks throughout the day.
Sipping cocktails on the deck overlooking the river before heading out on a Game Drive at night is a unique and treasured African experience. You can arrange ‘Big Five’ game drives into the Kruger National Park, arguably one of the best known game parks in Africa. There are also number of excellent adventure activities in the area, or one can simply spend the day soaking up the ambience and spectacular views from the resort itself.
Situated in the province of Mpumalanga, which means “the place of the Rising Sun”, the Kruger Park Lodge is just 15 minutes from the Phabeni Gate into the Kruger National Park and close to attractions such as the historic mining town of Pilgrims Rest, the stupendous Mac Mac Falls and the absolutely awe inspiring Blyde River Canyon. Visit a traditional Ndebele village with homes brightly painted in geometric patterns and even indulge in a traditional delicacy – Fried Mopani worms! Crafts and local arts are an important part of the Mpumalanga heritage and you can discover art galleries, small craft shops and local artisans selling curios throughout the area.
Kruger Park Lodge has three swimming pools, four tennis courts and of course, central to the resort is the challenging golf course and separate driving range. The secluded and safe walking trail through the resort is a phenomenal way to spend an hour or so in the late afternoon when the wildlife congregates at the dams and along the banks of the river. There is a dedicated children’s playground and loads of family fun and entertainment in-season.
