Auchrannie Country Club
A favourite since 1988 with those in love with the Scottish Isle of Arran, the Auchrannie Country Club is now far from its beginnings as a small guest house but still offers the perfect destination for a stress-free break. The resort, which is now a staff cooperative ownership, now boasts two hotels, 30 luxurious self-catering lodges and every amenity necessary for a peaceful holiday.
The elegance, comfort and beautiful setting of the timeshare lodges have won the resort five-star Visit Scotland grading and an RCI Gold Crown. Fitted kitchens give all amenities for self-catering, including a dishwasher, and the lounge and dining spaces are cosy and bright.
An impressive list of resort amenities includes a shop, two leisure clubs boasting swimming pools and fitness suites, a children's play barn, extensive day spa, four restaurants (one being dog friendly) and a fun outdoor adventure centre. With its owners passionate about sustainability and the environment, the resort has been part of the UK's Green Tourism Business Scheme for nine years, helping to preserve the pristine natural beauty of the island for all to enjoy.
Reviews are overwhelmingly positive, and the island itself is heaven for nature-lovers, easily accessed by ferry from Ardrossan which is close to Glasgow. The romance of historic castles, ancient, mysterious standing stones, cairns and stone circles, bird life including golden eagles, beaches open to the wild North Atlantic waves and the island's wilderness interior all make for a unique holiday, and golfers can take it all in from the greens of a great choice of 7 differing courses.
